Synesthesia is a condition in which multiple senses are perceived simultaniously, for example experiencing taste upon hearing words (Lexical–gustatory synesthesia). There are a myriad of different forms of synesthesia, which can be classified in two categories:
• Projective synesthesia: seeing actual colors, forms, or shapes when stimulated
• Associative synesthesia: feeling very strong and involuntary connections between the stimulus and the sense that it triggers
