Medium-functioning autism

Medium-functioning autism has symptoms similar to those with severe autism but are not nearly as serious or life altering.  Those with medium-functioning autism may or may not interact with their peers.  They also may struggle with social skills such as making and maintaining eye contact, understanding others body language and emotions, as well as understanding figures of speech.  If its a topic that is not about something they are interested in they may walk away from it.
