Emotional lability

Emotional lability is an amplified change in mood in a short amount of time.  Stress, anxiety, and over-stimulation are common causes for triggers for emotional lability.  Sometimes the outbursts of emotions are different from how the person really feels on the inside and is using them to cover up something that recently happened.  The death of a loved one or another trauma can also be the cause.
